ZRG vs HDR : quel est le meilleur sniper de la saison 3 ?

After the season 3 update, most of the snipers that were dominating the meta have been nerfed into the ground and are not usable anymore. Forget the Swiss, the kar98k or even the SP-R 208, they do not one shot anymore, even if you hit the head! It does not mean the snipers are dead at all, they are just being replaced by slower, heavier but more lethal weapons.

In this race to being the dominant sniper, two candidates are credible to take the crown: the fan favorite HDR and the underrated ZRG 20mm. Note that in any cases, those two rifles are super strong and can be used in Caldera: the goal here is simply to determine which one is better.

The statistics

First of all, it’s important to note that both the HDR and the ZRG 20mm will always one shot if you hit the head of the ennemy, no matter the distance or the game mode.

Core statistics:

• ADS Speed (i.e the time it takes the gun to aim):
  • ZRG: 500ms
  • HDR: 560ms
• Fire Rate:
  • ZRG: 43 rpm
  • HDR: 34 rpm
• Bullet Velocity:
  • ZRG: 1321.3 m/s
  • HDR: 1296 m/S

Regarding statistics there is no doubt, the ZRG is way better than the HDR: better ADS, fire rate and bullet velocity.

Mobility:

Once again, HDR is dominated by the ZRG in terms of mobility. It moves slowers in all categories!

Bullet Drop:

The only category where the HDR is winning, but clearly not an important one considering how good the bullet drop of the ZRG actually is.

Alternative for ADS: remove Sleight of Hand and go for the optic Cronen C480

• Revêtement de serpent
• Laser 5mw

Alternative for ADS: remove the Serpent wrap and go for the optic Royal & Kross x6.

The verdict

The ZRG 20mm is by far the best sniper in the game right now and the HDR despite being in the hearts of everyone is dominated in almost all aspects.
