Gunsmith Innovations in Modern Warfare III: A Deep Dive into Aftermarket Parts and More

The Gunsmith feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is undergoing its most significant transformation yet, thanks to the introduction of Aftermarket Parts. This new feature allows players to dramatically alter their weapons, offering a fresh and innovative approach to gunplay. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to the franchise, understanding how Aftermarket Parts work can give you a competitive edge. In this article, we’ll explore the ins and outs of this groundbreaking feature, from Conversion Kits to new challenges and playstyles.

New Challenges, New Playstyles

In Modern Warfare III, the Gunsmith feature functions similarly to its predecessor, Modern Warfare II. Players continue to earn Weapon XP to unlock various attachments for their weapons, such as Barrels, Muzzles, Magazines, Optics, Lasers, and Rear Grips. These attachments help you tailor your weapon to your preferred playstyle.

However, the game introduces a game-changing element for weapons that reach max level: Aftermarket Parts. These parts come in the form of Conversion Kits, which can be accessed by completing in-game challenges that become available once a weapon reaches max level. Successfully completing these challenges unlocks the Conversion Kit, offering a final, impressive reward for mastering a weapon.

Conversion Kit Examples: Three Aftermarket Weapons

Aftermarket Parts fundamentally change how a weapon functions. For instance, you might have a bullpup LMG conversion that alters the weapon’s identity entirely. These Conversion Kits also come with example attachments, allowing you further to customize your weapon’s capabilities in the field. The Conversion Kits are not just cosmetic changes; they offer powerful and meaningful alterations to your weapons.

Other Gunsmith Enhancements

In addition to Aftermarket Parts, Modern Warfare III will introduce other enhancements to the Gunsmith feature. For example, new attachments might become available that were not accessible with the base weapon, and some previously available attachments may become restricted. This dynamic system ensures that players always have new ways to interact with their weapons, keeping the gameplay fresh and engaging.

New Weapon, New Attachments

When you equip a Conversion Kit, your weapon undergoes a fundamental transformation. This change isn’t just cosmetic; it affects the range of attachments you can use. New Aftermarket Parts may become available that were previously inaccessible with the base weapon. Conversely, some existing attachments may become restricted. This dynamic system ensures that each weapon offers multiple avenues for customization and strategy.

Conversion Kit Examples: Three Aftermarket Weapons

Aftermarket Parts Loadout #1: Pulemyot LMG

Unlock Challenge at Max Level: Get 25 Kills while hip firing or using Tac-Stance.

The Bullpup Conversion Kit transforms the Pulemyot LMG into a more mobile and versatile weapon. This kit increases the weapon’s rate of fire, recoil control, and handling, especially when hip firing or in Tac-Stance. Attach Aftermarket recoil pads to the Stock for greater accuracy and an Aftermarket Bullpup Barrel for improved bullet velocity and damage range. This setup is perfect for players who prefer an aggressive playstyle.

Aftermarket Parts Loadout #2: Renetti Handgun with Full-Auto Carbine

Unlock Challenge at Max Level: Get 30 Kills with five attachments equipped.

Convert the burst-fire Renetti into a full-auto Handgun that behaves like an SMG. This Conversion Kit increases bullet velocity, range, and rate of fire but sacrifices some mobility and recoil control. Pair this with a larger Magazine and a Barrel to extend your damage range, and you’ll have a weapon that excels in close-quarters combat.

Aftermarket Parts Loadout #3: WSP Swarm with Akimbo Brace Stocks

Unlock Challenge at Max Level: Unlock via weekly challenge in the preseason.

This Conversion Kit allows you to wield one WSP Swarm in each hand, adopting an aggressive Akimbo stance. While this setup sacrifices some damage range and mobility, it overwhelms opponents with a hail of bullets. Equip a Laser for improved hip-fire accuracy and a Suppressor with Hollow Point Ammunition for stealthy, aggressive play.

Other Gunsmith Enhancements

Modern Warfare III introduces more shared attachments and removes certain penalties for equipping small Optics. Attachments like Grips, Barrels, Magazines, and Stocks will now be universally available for new weapons once unlocked. For example, if you unlock the Assault Stock for the AMR9 SMG, it will also be available for the Riveter Shotgun. Additionally, 1x zoom Optic attachments will no longer penalize your Aim Down Sights speed, allowing for faster target acquisition.

Conclusion

The Gunsmith feature in Modern Warfare III is not just an update; it’s a game-changer. The introduction of Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits has revolutionized the way we think about weapon customization, offering a level of depth and strategy previously unseen in the franchise. Whether you’re a casual player or a competitive gamer, these new features provide a plethora of options for tailoring your loadout to your unique playstyle. From the transformational power of Conversion Kits to the newfound flexibility of shared attachments, Modern Warfare III is setting a new standard for what a first-person shooter can offer. Everything You Need to Know About Warzone 2 Season 6 Reloaded: operators, haunting event and more!

Season 6 Reloaded Release Date: when is it dropping?

Scheduled to drop on October 17, 2023, the Season 6 Reloaded update will be available around 9 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 5 PM BST. This timing aligns perfectly with the end of the Modern Warfare 3 beta and the official commencement of The Haunting even

Operation Nightmare

As Operation Nightmare kicks off in the Al Mazrah area on October 17, operators are tasked with investigating a series of eldritch hot spots that have emerged following the Hellmouth incident. The mission parameters indicate that entities have been detected throughout the area of operation (AO), and these will be marked on the Tac-Map. Operators are required to investigate each location and eliminate a “Most Wanted” target along with any other hostiles. A bounty has been set on several undisclosed targets, and exceptional bravery could lead to undisclosed rewards, including a Mastery Weapon Blueprint.

Operation Nightmare Warzone

Initial recon reports suggest a range of apocryphal activities. An ancient tomb complex featuring hieroglyphs and an entity known as “The Pharaoh” has been partially disclosed. Witnesses have reported strange lights and unidentified anomalous phenomena in the night sky. There have also been encounters with a spectral entity, and reports suggest the necessity of operator vehicles for some undisclosed activity. Further into the swamp, there’s an undisclosed entity known as the “Swamp Creature” that may require non-standard armaments. Observers have described glowing, wisp-like ethereal entities referred to as “Evil Spirits.” Lastly, there are platforms outside stone walls connected to the Altars of Lilith and a Nightmare Portal codenamed “The Butcher,” whose influence may also extend to the Vondel AO.

Zombie Royale Limited-Time Mode

The much-anticipated Zombie Royale mode is making a triumphant return in the latest iteration of The Haunting, featuring new innovations as well as elements from past experiences like Rebirth of the Dead. In this mode, the dead rise to walk the earth in terrifying versions of Al Mazrah and Vondel, each offering a unique Zombie Royale experience. Unlike traditional modes where eliminated Operators go to the Gulag, here they are reanimated as zombies. Once transformed, players gain access to special abilities that make them formidable foes against the remaining human Operators. The objective for these undead players is to collect special syringes scattered around the map, which allow them to return to their human form. Adding a new layer of complexity, any Operator currently spectating the match will also be reanimated, increasing the number of zombies players have to contend with.

Zombie Royale Limited-Time Mode

The mode allows for interesting dynamics within squads, as teams can still function even if some of their members have turned into zombies. This opens up a variety of tactical possibilities, as human and undead Operators can work together to defeat enemies. However, it’s worth noting that zombies eliminated during the match are permanently removed, ratcheting up the stakes. The ultimate goal remains the same: the squad that manages to outlast and defeat both living and undead foes claims the victory. Whether you’re a human trying to survive or a zombie hunting down your former allies, Zombie Royale promises a thrilling and horrifying gaming experience.

Vondead Map

The city of Vondel has been plunged into a state of supernatural chaos, forcing a complete evacuation of its inhabitants. Triggered by a sorceress’s demonic incantation, a zombie outbreak has swept across the city, turning its canals blood-red. Adding to the eerie atmosphere, a rare Blood Moon looms in the sky, casting a haunting, scarlet glow over the city now known as Vondead. The epicenter of these paranormal activities is the Graveyard, a hotspot for dark summoning rituals. However, the entire city bears the marks of an undead invasion, from burning cars and barricaded shops to a blood-soaked tramway and train station. Additional areas like the zoo and stadium also show signs of alarming, otherworldly activities.

Vondead map

Demonic altars have been erected throughout Vondead, serving as power sources for the ongoing supernatural events. These altars are connected to a mythical entity known as “The Butcher,” challenging players to summon and confront this fearsome demon in the underworld. Defeating him promises significant rewards, adding another layer of objectives for players to pursue. Alongside this, the blood-covered streets of Vondead may hold other hidden treasures for those daring enough to explore. Whether it’s special weapon blueprints, unique skins, or other in-game items, braving the dangers of Vondead could prove to be both a horrifying and rewarding experience.

Halloween-Themed Lockdown LTM

The Lockdown limited-time mode is making a chilling return in Warzone’s Season 6 Reloaded, this time set in the eerie, moonlit landscape of Vondead. For those unfamiliar, Lockdown is an objective-based Battle Royale mode that debuted in Season 04. In this mode, teams parachute in with their Custom Loadouts and work together to capture and hold various zones around the map, similar to the Multiplayer mode Hardpoint but on a much larger scale. The twist this time is the setting: the already intense gameplay is heightened by the ominous atmosphere of Vondead under a haunting moonlight. The night-time variant adds an extra layer of tension and strategy, making this iteration of Lockdown a blood-curdling experience you won’t want to miss.

The Haunting: Equipment and Items (Mid-Season)

As The Haunting event unfolds in Warzone, players can expect more than just zombies and monstrous entities to contend with; there’s also a host of otherworldly equipment and items to discover. One of the key features is the Captured Souls, part of the Soul Capture Event in both Warzone and Modern Warfare II. Players can collect Souls by defeating enemies and monstrous beings, which can then be traded for various rewards after each match. Additionally, the Haunting introduces the Haunted Box, a unique loot container dropped by zombies. These boxes act like mutated Armor and Munitions Boxes, providing plates, ammunition, and equipment. However, players should exercise caution when opening these, as they are possessed and could devour the unwary.

The haunting

The event also introduces the Bloodseeker Grenade, a living grenade fashioned like a vampire bat. When thrown, it latches onto enemies and highlights them in thermal vision, adding a new tactical layer to nighttime operations. However, it’s worth noting that these grenades are ineffective against Operators who are underwater. To add an extra layer of horror, lootable containers across Al Mazrah and Vondead have the potential to trigger intense jump scares. Surviving these terrifying moments allows players to claim the rewards within the container. As the event progresses, players should brace themselves for additional surprises that promise to make this mid-season update of The Haunting a truly horrifying experience.

The Haunting Operators

Season 6 Reloaded will introduce a variety of Operator crossovers, featuring characters from popular TV shows, movies, comics, and more. Some of the Operators include:

Spawn (Image Universe)

Spawn is a character from the Image Comics universe, created by Todd McFarlane. Originally a government assassin named Al Simmons, he is betrayed and killed, only to be resurrected as a Hellspawn. With supernatural powers and a complex moral compass, Spawn is a dark anti-hero who battles both celestial and infernal forces. His inclusion in Warzone 2 could bring a gritty, supernatural element to the game.

Spawn operator

Inarius and Lilith (Diablo 4)

Inarius and Lilith are characters from the Diablo universe, specifically tied to Diablo 4. Inarius is an archangel who, along with Lilith, created the world of Sanctuary as a haven for angels and demons. Lilith is a demoness known for her cunning and manipulative ways. Their complex relationship and powers could add a mythical and dark layer to Warzone 2 gameplay.

Inarius and lilith operator

Skeletor (Masters of the Universe)

Skeletor is the main antagonist in the Masters of the Universe franchise. Known for his skull-like face and magical abilities, he is the arch-enemy of He-Man. Skeletor is a character filled with both menace and unintentional humor, and his inclusion could bring a mix of magic and levity to the Warzone 2 environment.

Skeletor

Ash Williams (Evil Dead 2)

Ash Williams is the protagonist of the Evil Dead franchise, known for his one-liners and his chainsaw hand. A reluctant hero, Ash battles the undead and various supernatural entities. His gritty, no-nonsense approach to dealing with the paranormal could make him a fan-favorite Operator in Warzone 2.

Ash Williams

Alucard (Hellsing)

Alucard is the main character in the Hellsing manga and anime series. He is a powerful vampire serving the Hellsing Organization, which fights against supernatural threats in England. Known for his sadistic pleasure in battle and near-immortality, Alucard could bring a new level of intensity and darkness to Warzone 2.
