Warzone Season 6 brings major changes to Resurgence Ranked Play, with Activision targeting SR inflation at Diamond, Crimson, Iridescent, and Top 250.
The season will also be shorter than usual, with three weeks of normal Ranked Play followed by one week of Ranked Series. Deployment Fees are increasing significantly at higher divisions, SR Challenges are disabled, and several previously restricted weapons, attachments, and equipment are returning to Ranked Loadouts.
Warzone Ranked SR Changes in Season 6
Higher Deployment Fees From Diamond and Above
The biggest Season 6 Ranked change is the increase to Deployment Fees in Diamond+ divisions.
Activision says SR progression from Bronze through Platinum is currently working as intended, but Diamond and higher divisions have experienced significant SR inflation over recent seasons.
Division SR breakpoints remain unchanged. Instead, higher Deployment Fees reduce the maximum SR players can earn from each match.
| Rank / SR | New Deployment Fee | Max Earnable SR | Previous Fee | Previous Max SR |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Diamond I - 5,400 | 75 | 200 | 65 | 210 |
| Diamond II - 6,100 | 85 | 190 | 70 | 205 |
| Diamond III - 6,800 | 95 | 180 | 75 | 200 |
| Crimson I - 7,500 | 130 | 145 | 85 | 190 |
| Crimson II - 8,300 | 135 | 140 | 95 | 180 |
| Crimson III - 9,100 | 140 | 135 | 110 | 165 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 10,000 | 170 | 105 | 120 | 155 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 10,500 | 190 | 85 | 130 | 145 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 11,000 | 200 | 75 | 140 | 135 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 11,500 | 210 | 65 | 150 | 125 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 12,000 | 220 | 55 | 160 | 115 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 12,500 | 230 | 45 | 170 | 105 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 13,000 | 240 | 35 | 180 | 95 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 13,500 | 255 | 20 | 190 | 85 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 14,000 | 260 | 15 | 200 | 75 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 14,500 | 265 | 10 | 210 | 65 |
| Iridescent / Top 250 - 15,000 | 270 | 5 | 220 | 55 |
Top 250 Will Be Much Harder to Climb
The impact becomes particularly strong at high Iridescent and Top 250 SR levels.
At 15,000 SR, the maximum earnable SR falls from 55 to just 5 SR per match after the Deployment Fee.
Activision says the goal is to make progression near the top of the ladder better reflect consistent performance rather than time played alone, while also reducing SR inflation.
SR Challenges Are Disabled
All SR Challenges are disabled for Season 6.
Activision says players were sometimes holding completed Challenges to create a larger SR cushion later in the season. Removing them gives the developers a clearer view of how the underlying SR system performs without those additional boosts.
More Weapons and Equipment Allowed in Ranked Play
Season 6 also expands the Ranked Play sandbox by removing restrictions from several weapons, attachments, and one Lethal.
Newly Unrestricted Weapons
- NX Ravager Crossbow
- Explosive Crossbow Bolt allowed
- M10 Breacher
- Dragon's Breath Ammo remains restricted
- Arrow 109
- A.R.C M1
Newly Unrestricted Attachments
- Solaris Holo-IR
- M335-X Frag
- M335-X Tempest
- Mirage Tandem Launcher
- M34 Novaline Garand Conversion
- M15 MOD 0 AMR .50 Cal Kit
- XM325 Titan Wield
- MK.78 Lightframe PDW Conversion Kit
Newly Unrestricted Lethal
- Claymore
Activision says these changes are intended to give Ranked players more options for dealing with enemies holding buildings and vehicles.
One-Hit Kill Protection Expanded
To limit the impact of the newly unrestricted equipment, Warzone's existing one-hit kill protection is being expanded.
These Items Will Not One-Shot Players
- NX Ravager with Explosive Ammo
- M10 Breacher
- Arrow 109
- A.R.C M1
- M335-X Frag
- M335-X Tempest
- Mirage Tandem Launcher
- Claymore
Launchers vs Vehicles
Vehicles at full health will also no longer explode from a single launcher hit.
This allows launchers to return to Ranked while preserving counterplay against both players and vehicles.
Shorter Season 6 Ranked Play and Rewards
Season 6 Ranked Play will run for a shorter period than usual.
Ranked Schedule
The season consists of:
- 3 weeks of normal Ranked Play
- 1 week of Ranked Series
Activision is using the shorter season to test the more aggressive SR changes and evaluate their effect quickly.
Reduced Placement Requirements
Because the season is shorter, the targets for seasonal placement rewards have also been reduced.
- Weapon Blueprint: 5 Top Placements
- Large Decal: 25 Top Placements
What the Season 6 Ranked Changes Mean
Season 6 is effectively a major test of Warzone's Ranked Play progression system.
The increased Deployment Fees should have the greatest effect on Crimson, Iridescent, and Top 250 players, where maximum possible SR gains fall sharply as players climb higher.
At the same time, removing SR Challenges means players cannot rely on stored SR bonuses later in the season.
Ranked Loadouts are also becoming more varied. Shotguns, launchers, explosive Crossbow Bolts, a thermal optic, Claymores, and several Conversion Kits are now available, although one-hit protection should prevent many of these options from instantly eliminating fully protected players.
Activision says it will use Season 6 data to evaluate:
- SR progression
- Top 250 leaderboard separation
- Loadout diversity
- The overall feel of high-level Ranked Play
These results will help guide future Warzone competitive systems.
